New Delhi: The last day for updating WhatsApp's privacy policy has arrived. If it is not accepted now, users will lose features and will not be able to access the chat list. You can either approve it or switch to other apps to send the message. If the privacy policy is not followed, the WhatsApp account will not be deleted and its services will be limited.
WhatsApp has told the Delhi High Court that users can stop using the app if they do not want to accept the new privacy policy. The company added that it will not force users to adopt the new policy.
What happens if the privacy policy is not adopted?
From tomorrow, WhatsApp users will be warned to adopt a privacy policy. Those who do not accept will gradually lose access to the services of WhatsApp.
Regular warnings will be issued later. The chat list cannot be opened once this process has started. You can reply to incoming voice and video calls. You can reply and read messages received through WhatsApp notification.
If you do not follow the policy after weeks, you will no longer receive calls and messages. So you can decide whether to stay on WhatsApp or switch to other apps.
Do you want to delete WhatsApp?
If you delete your WhatsApp account, you will not be able to recover it later. The company says it will take 90 days for your personal information to be deleted.
How to delete an account
Step 1: First open WhatsApp. Click on the three dots at the top right.
Step 2: Click on Settings, then select Account and Delete My Account.
Step 3: WhatsApp will ask for your mobile number. After entering it, click on Delete My Account.
Step 4: WhatsApp will ask you the reason for deleting the account.
