New Delhi: WhatsApp has softened its stance on privacy policy. Informed that the functional features of the application are not limited. This will continue until the Personal Information Security Act comes into force in India, officials said.

The new response comes a week after the company announced that it would gradually limit the features available to users if its privacy policy was not adopted. The warning was that the features of chat access and video calls would be slowly lost before the account could be deleted.

The company had changed the deadline for adopting the privacy policy from May 7 to May 15. This was followed by WhatsApp with a stern warning to users. Meanwhile, company sources said that it will continue to remind users about the update from time to time. WhatsApp also responded to the central government's May 18 letter.

The IT ministry had warned WhatsApp that it would take legal action if it did not receive a satisfactory response to the incident by the 25th. The ministry also demanded the withdrawal of the controversial privacy policy. The center also wrote a letter to WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart last January about this.
