North Korea withdraws from World Cup qualifiers

 Dubai: North Korea has withdrawn from qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.  This was announced by the Asian Football Confederation.  Covid had earlier withdrawn from the Tokyo Olympics due to the situation.

 The rest of the fighting in Group H, which is also part of North Korea, is scheduled to take place in South Korea in June.  North Korea are fourth on the list after five games.  South Korea are eight points adrift, but only four games have been completed.

 Turkmenistan tops the list.  Lebanon is second and Sri Lanka is third.
