Airtel announces freebies for low-income customers to maintain phone usage during lockdown Earlier, Geo had also announced a free recharge for Geophone users. Airtel is on that path now. Airtel is now offering a free Rs 49 pack for over 55 million low-income customers in India during the Kovid period. Under this, users will get 100 MB of data and talk time valid for 28 days.

Through this feature, Airtel aims to empower more than 5.5 crore customers. Most of them are from rural areas. In the event that the phone cannot be recharged, this free is announced to keep in touch and provide critical information when needed. In addition, there is another free plan. Airtel has also introduced 79 recharge coupons with double the benefits for prepaid customers, realizing that customers need to stay in touch with their family and friends.

 Both of these benefits will be available in the coming weeks. Airtel is the largest telecom company in India with 45.8 crore customers and operations in 18 countries in South Asia and Africa. Airtel is also the second largest mobile operator in the African market.
