The Central Government has now approved 5G trials in India. The Central Telecom Department has also approved a spectrum trial for 5G trials in India. Similarly, 5G trials are now allowed with the complete exclusion of Chinese companies.

In addition, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, BSNL and Bharti Airtel are currently conducting 5G trials in both urban and rural areas.

The list of telecom equipment makers now includes Reliance Jio, Ericsson and Nokia. Devices from China will not be used for the 5G trial. Similarly, Chinese companies will reportedly be banned from using 5G technologies in India. The trial period is currently extended to 6 months.
